There are many things which are important to me. Yet, if I had to choose one thing that is most important to me it would be my passion for becoming a pediatrician.
I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States mainland when my dad was transferred from his work. Living in Puerto Rico, I saw many kids who did not receive the proper health care or were not in good health conditions because of the economy. Still, when I moved to the U.S. mainland I saw the distinction in care for children, and I began to realize the big difference a doctor can have on a child’s life. Thus, I decided that what I wanted to do was to become a pediatrician.
Furthermore, I come from a family which has experienced many challenges. However, these challenges have made me learn and care more for what I have. For instance, I come from a household with a disabled mother. I have learned to take care of her. Also, I have understood that when someone is able to obtain the right medical care this cannot only change their lives forever, but also give them hope, renewed strength, and hopefully a new passion to help others or pay it forward in some fashion.
In this resume are some of my achievements and skills which will help me achieve my goal.
