I have successfully auditioned to participate in my high school jazz band my freshman, sophomore, and junior years, and performed on bass in all events and competitions associated with the jazz band. At the Folklife Festival in 2014 I performed on bass, guitar, and vocals with my parents’ band. I have performed with this band on multiple occasions throughout high school.

I was a member of my high school fast pitch team my freshman and sophomore years and earned a varsity letter for this sport. I was on a select fast pitch team for my sophomore and junior years. These teams were stationed in Tacoma (the Tacoma Panthers) and Seattle (the Seattle Spice), and I commuted to practice twice a week while a member of these teams. These teams competed in multiple travel tournaments. I participated in rowing through the Bainbridge Island Rowing Club during the fall of my freshman and junior years and the spring of my junior year and will participate in fall, winter, and spring season of senior year.

From December 2013 to March 2014 I was employed at Snoqualmie Summit as a snowboard instructor.
Community Service
History
I have been a volunteer tutor through NHS for my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I have tutored 33 hours and 8 students total. The summer of my freshman, sophomore, and junior years I volunteered for Rotary Auction, a citywide sale. I have volunteered 36 hours at Rotary. During the summer of 2014 I applied to go to Russia through the non-profit organization Camp Siberia. Eight other juniors and I spent two weeks in a foster community of Russian orphans located five hours south of Moscow. Through Camp Siberia I have accumulated 120 hours of community service. I received the “Compassionate Action Award” in 2104.
Additional Info
I prepared the music program for the counselors going to Camp Siberia-Kitezh the summer of 2014 and led the nightly song circles on the guitar. We prepared english songs to teach the foster kids and learned traditional russian folk songs in preparation for the trip. Upon my return, I interviewed, helped select next year's candidates and will assist in their training.
