• Global Seal of Biliteracy (2023)--After spending one month in Argentina for an immersion program, I earned the Global Seal of Biliteracy. I obtained intermediate-advanced knowledge of Spanish in the areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Student of Character Award (2021)--I was named a student of character my freshman year of high school. This award was voted on by school staff and given to a student who demonstrates good character and kindness to others.

Spanish Club (senior year)--I was appointed Vice President of Spanish Club after our seven-person AP Spanish class created a Spanish Club at the high school. With this role, I am in charge of many duties:
Creating engaging slide shows that follow the meeting’s agenda
Creating engaging graphics to promote the club on social media
Organizing brief announcements to be read off over the intercom to encourage participation
Collaborate with the club President to decide on meeting topics
Collaborate with the club President to organize unique Spanish words to be taught at meetings
Research and plan engaging cultural activities that are exciting, yet educational
Senior Leadership (senior year)--Senior Leadership is in charge of voting on decisions that affect the school as well as participating in district-wide activities. Some tasks include:

Member in Violence Prevention (MVP) Leader (junior & senior year)--MVP leaders are in charge of educating underclassmen and other classmates on techniques to prevent violence. My duties include:
Creating lessons on specific topics to then teach and explain to sophomores in health classes
Mediate discussions on difficult and potentially triggering topics
Attend annual trainings on suicide prevention
Attend annual trainings on discussion mediation

• Most Dedicated Junior in Theatre (2022, 2023)--After each production, the directors and cast vote for an individual who demonstrated outstanding commitment. I was selected the most dedicated junior for both the fall and spring productions, showing my passion and love for theatre.
• All-State Choir (2022, 2023)--I was selected to participate in the Iowa High School Music Association’s All-State Choir during my junior & senior years. Both years, I auditioned with a quartet and grew as a musician.
• Solo/Ensemble Perfect Ballot (2023)--In the spring of my junior year, I earned a perfect ballot on my vocal solo at contest.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease (junior and senior year)-- For the past two years, I have participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. I enjoy this day for a number of reasons:
I have encouraged more of my coworkers to join me each year
I get the chance to talk with community members with a similar passion
I get to visit with individuals with early and late stage dementia and observe how it affects others differently
Cedar Falls United Methodist Church Volunteer (junior and senior year)--The past two years, I have loved volunteering during two specific times of the year:
Vacation Bible School where I monitor a small group of children and watch them grow in their faith
The annual rummage sale where I help set up and sell donated items at my church in order to support my church and help the community
