11th-12th Highly Undisputed Sports Club 4 hrs./month
Co-Founder 9 months/yr.
• Created monthly program with co-founder, served as MC and led club, managed funds and delegated refreshments. The club met each month to debate sports topics and enjoy great food, all funded from the club’s t-shirt sales and entry fees. We raised about $300 each year.
• Coached 30 kids from 8 – 12 years old along with 4 other high schoolers. Organized drills to make it fun, winning team got popsicles and other treats – ensured they stayed hydrated in the Texas heat!
• The program’s purpose is for students from diverse backgrounds to learn about our community, so we could understand how to affect positive change in and for our community.
• My parents are both entrepreneurs and Dad went through the adult leadership program. At first, I wasn’t too excited about attending, but then I really enjoyed hearing successful leaders talk about their values and learning firsthand why they care about Arlington. It was motivational to learn how even as students we can make a difference.
