Education History
I've been an honor student and on the honor roll for most of my middle school and high school experience. I received the Presidential Academic Award as well in 2015. I've always been respectful toward teachers, coaches and school administration. I love classes that encourage an open discussion and expression of new ideas.
Awards
I've done particularly well in the areas of Language Arts, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice and Physical Education. I also find current events, politics and civil rights particularly interesting--and important. At this point, I'm just struggling to narrow down my interests to one specific area!

Awards
I've been involved in dance, gymnastics and cheer from a young age. I am currently the cheer captain of my cheer squad and genuinely love the girls on my team. I also won the award for most outstanding leader this past year. In addition I have lettered for the past 3 years, which is based not only on success in a sport but also on academic performance as well. I also enjoy graphic art/online design and have a true passion for photography.
Additional Info
I also had the great honor of making the All American Cheer Team for USA in 2016. As a result I was able to travel to London to perform in the Macey's New Years Day Parade in front of huge crowds which included the Royal Family! We were able to watch it later on TV, and despite the fact it was pouring rain, it was obvious that we had a blast! After an incredible week in London, I was able to spend an additional week in Paris where I spent an afternoon wandering through the famous Louvre. I was able to indulge in my passion for photography to get pictures of the Eiffel Tower, the London Eye etc-- among many other amazing shots of those incredible cities.
Awards
I am currently cheer captain for the 2018-2019 season. I''m also quite strong and can out do several of the boys in weightlifting class! I am interested in health and nutrition as well as sports medicine. I have a genuine appreciation for physical therapy after having come back from 2 concussions and a broken back with the help of a great physical therapist!
Additional Info
Recently, I've also begun to develop a passion for horses and have been able to learn about riding, training and even some equine therapy concepts. I have some friends who ride in rodeo who have taught me more about that sport as well.

I worked as a waitress at a restaurant for 2 years and more recently I was able to transfer to our local ice cream shop. I enjoy interacting with customers, especially since most people coming in for ice cream are in a great mood!
Additional Info
I am interested in several subjects currently and have not yet decided on a specific major. I look forward to taking my general education requirements in order to find out what area will be right for me in my long term career.
Community Service
History
I'm active in my local church organization and have been involved in numerous community service projects including: providing handmade blankets for a children's hospital, taking clothes to a youth shelter, making toys for refugees, visiting the residents at our local care center and learning to make sleeping mats for our homeless people. I've also been in a youth leadership position for the past several years which has included me teaching lessons, planning activities, overseeing service projects and being a leader at our yearly summer camps.
Additional Info
In addition I was able to go on a humanitarian trip to Haiti with my mom who is on the clinical board for a program called Grace House Children's Program. We were able to go to various orphanages, a charter school in Port au Prince and a nutrition center for starving babies. It was a difficult but educational and truly humbling experience!
Additionally, I am part Puerto Rican and have grown up for most of my life in a rural area in Utah. My best friend from the age of 5 was one of only 5 African American's in our entire town of about 3500 people. Unfortunately I have had to deal with racist stereotypes at times. However, this has taught me how to stand up for myself and for others in a calm but firm manner. My mom is a social worker who has spent most of my life working with the under served populations, while my dad is an outgoing Puerto Rican guy who tries to be a positive example in this rural community. As a result, human rights are a big deal to me and I hope I will be able to make a positive impact on this issue through my education and future career.
