Are you an undergraduate in college majoring in a STEM field such as computer science, engineering, materials science, mathematics, or physics? Consider applying for a Fermilab internship program!
The Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory is run for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science. Fermilab, America's premier particle physics laboratory, is located 40 miles west of Chicago.
One such internship they offer is The Summer Internships in Science & Technology (SIST) program. Established in 1970, SIST is the longest operating internship program in the Department of Energy National Laboratory system. The SIST Program provides underrepresented minority undergraduate students in STEM the opportunity to work with scientists & engineers at the nation’s preeminent high energy physics laboratory.
Another program run through Fermilab is the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI). SULI places undergraduate physics or engineering majors in summer internships at Fermilab. These internships offer a chance for students to work with Fermilab scientists or engineers on a project at the frontier of scientific research in particle physics.
Plus, these are PAID summer internships! There are other internships listed on their website as well, even ones for high school and graduate students!
The deadlines to apply range from January 6 - February 3, 2020. Learn more about the programs and application processes here: https://internships.fnal.gov/undergraduate-programs/
