My Statement: This is a piece I decided to write on a whim. I never expected to write about such a emotional topic, but basically I drew upon my personal experience of leaving behind family and the things I wish I could say to my brother if I could see him one last time. Monologue Notes for actor: The “He”, from the second paragraph is our father. I was thinking of potentially adding in a story about the way my brother and I used to play cards, specifically war because that is the only game he knows, but I felt it was out of place. I guess what I would suggest is to just pull upon moments that you have had with siblings, friends, or anyone you are very close with and what you would feel if you had to abruptly stop talking to them.
