My essay tells a time when my family hit rock bottom. Our home was foreclosed, my sister and I were still working hard in school and in extracurriculars, and my Dad was struggling with Parkinson's Disease. We stuck together though, and I learned that the best thing to do when facing adversity, is not to take the easy way out. Being pessimistic and self-pitying does nothing. But, being hopeful and remembering that you can do anything you put your mind to makes success that much more possible.
