Community Service
History
My beginnings with community volunteering are from Scouts, which is where I have learned so many other life skills. I owe it to Scouts for giving me so many hours under my belt, which I have been doing since I was 10. My favorite volunteering service for my community is participating in food drives and Christmas baskets donations. A few times during my Scouting career I helped USPS bag and ship their food into trucks for their annual food drive with local charities. During multiple Decembers, we put together baskets for families during the holidays, and personally deliver them to their homes. These baskets would include food, toiletries, and other essentials that struggling families could be in need of. Although Scouts has given me the majority of my community service opportunities, I have volunteered outside of Scouts. In 2019, my mom found the program CreateNow, which is an art program that teaches and mentors underprivileged youth in Downtown Los Angeles through the arts. We volunteered various times. We cleaned and sorted their large, art storage room, through multiple sessions. We also helped them at their annual holiday party with the kids. I also helped decorate a 2020 Rose Parade float with Key Club at the end of 2019.
