Education History
• I received my high school diploma from Hercules High School in 2019.
• I completed my Political Science for Transfer (AAT) program in Spring 2021 at Diablo Valley College: Pleasant Hill.
Additional Info
During high school, I was the team leader of the Hercules High Mock Trial Team. I learned to coordinate with my lawyer coach and club advisor to prepare my team for the regional Mock Trial competition. I familiarized myself and my teammates with case law and court procedures while building community on campus, earning the team a place in the semi-finals in 2019.
I was also president of the Hercules High Filipino Club. I exposed fellow students to Filipino culture and history through group discussion, music and dance, and film. I coordinated with fellow officers to create a space where students felt safe to express themselves and to engage with others while embracing diversity. Also, I helped to prepare rallies, using my platform as president to advocate for the equity of API students.
I continued my advocacy in Diablo Valley College, where I became the president of the Women of Color Association. I lead general meetings, coordinate with other clubs to hold campus events and work with a team of other officers in order to provide a safe space for students of color and to discuss topics on social justice and policy.
Community Service
History
Since the spring of 2019, I have been an intern for the office of California District 14 Assembly Member Timothy Grayson. The purpose of my work was to assist my community with general concerns about various bills, events, and casework. I represented Assembly Member Tim Grayson and helped constituents.
I also assisted my field representative with contacting people over phone and email, helping to solve their cases-- especially concerning unemployment benefits-- efficiently while keeping friendly relations with constituents. I became proficient in data entry, and I also coordinated with others to put on events like Scam Stoppers.
