Education History
I finished my senior year of high school with Dual Enrollment credits which counted for college since I scored high on my ACT. This means I could knock out the core classes early and was already a sophomore ahead of my time in college via credits, allowing me to register early as well.
Awards
I graduated with the BETA stole and was also able to graduate as a member of the National Honors Society which I was inducted into my junior year
Arts
Awards
I received artistic awards both years when I entered the Youth Art Month competition held by the local library as well as receiving an Honorable mention when entering an art competition held by the town. To keep voting unbiased in Youth Art Month we were permitted not to provide a visible signature, which ironically led to me winning first, second, and third in the same category on one occasion.
Additional Info
My high school art teacher recommended me to be put in the talented art class. As I have been told I should be many times by teachers and peers. If it were a more achievable pursuit in my eyes I would pursue a degree in graphic design or studio art.
History
I was chosen from my high school towards the end of senior year along with other peers from different schools in the parish to paint murals for the local library and transform it into a fun and creative space where kids will want to come and learn. This also helped me build a bond with the library's director, we were tasked with this when the director, Mrs. Stephanie had the idea to turn it into a creative space after a truck had driven through one of the library walls. She wanted to make something nice out of something tragic which I deeply admire. It was an honor to be chosen for such a project. Also in that same year, I was given the opportunity to paint a mural with my friend for a local business by the name of Bayou Trade Days. One could describe it as a local thrift market, we were asked to come up with and paint a bayou scene on the outer wall.
