Some pictures from the aquarium at Disney. People sometimes see animals in captivity and become depressed, mad even. How can we just lock these creatures up for entertainment? I understand that thought, but I feel as though a zoo or an aquarium allows us to appreciate that we aren't alone on this planet. For a child to see something like a manatee (which was rescued might I add), they can gain a better appreciation of nature. Of course, nothing beats seeing them in the wild, but zoos and aquariums are the only way for most people to have that intimate experience that is so necessary for understanding the world that lives far from our well manicured lives.
