I have been taking Tae Kwon Do for eleven years. I have achieved the rank of a second degree Black Belt and am actively working towards my third degree.
I compete in club and regional tournaments. In the areas of point sparing, forms, and boards. It is not uncommon for me to win three first places in my division (one in each of the events). I have competed in eight major tournaments (Nebraska Academy of Martial Arts 2012, Tae Kwon Do America 2012 Spring, Tae Kwon Do America 2012 Fall, Nebraska Academy of Martial Arts 2013, Tae Kwon Do America 2013 Spring, Tae Kwon Do America 2013 Fall, Tae Kwon Do America 2013 Columbus, Nebraska Academy of Martial Arts 2014). Each time I compete in their Adult division against some of the most athletic martial artists in the Omaha area.
I have won about 20 trophies and 50 medals.

Employment History
I have taught Tae Kwon Do for the past four years.
Additional Info
My responsibilities as a Tae Kwon Do instructor go well beyond teaching martial arts to students. While working, I am also responsible for maintaining good customer relations, handling sales, opening the school at the start of my shift, and locking it up at the end. I maintain a satellite location, and keep up good relation with our students and their families. My employer places a great amount of confidence in my character. An example of this is my work at the Salvation Army’s KROC center. When we opened a club at the KROC they required our instructors to be at least 18 years old. However, they made an exception at my employer’s request for my sake, permitting me to teach at age 16.
While my employer is on vacation, I am the lead instructor, and handle staff training in his absence. I am one of three instructors who are assigned to mentor and train junior instructors. I serve as a role model and mentor for senior students.
Community Service
History
I lead/teach Team Flight. Team Flight is a martial arts ministry founded to use martial arts as an avenue for fellowship, training, outreach, and competition. I have been leading flight since August 2012. During Flight I am teaching/mentoring a class from 4 to 8 people ranging from 10 years old through adult, applying the tenants of the martial (courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, indomitable spirit, and respect) arts to a Christian Bible study. Further, as outreach and evangelism, we have performed martial arts demonstrations at Boys Town, Relay for Life, and area churches.
I am an active volunteer at my church, consistently doing the setup and preparation for service each week. I volunteer at our annual Vacation Bible School, and Summer Carnival. For the last two years I have been an usher during services.
For the last four years I have been an assistant team leader at the Nebraska Christian Home Education Association (NCHEA) Kids’ Conferences, preparing lessons and leading activities for groups of children ranging from 5-12 years old.
I am active in politics. I volunteered as canvasser in the 2008 Jim Smith Campaign for the Nebraska Legislature. I volunteered as a canvasser and operated phone banks for the 2012 Romney Ryan Presidential Campaign and the Tom Latham Congressional Campaign.
Outside of my job as a martial arts instructor, I give my time to help students prepare for Tae Kwon Do tests and learn portions of the curriculum that they are struggling with.
