Education History
In high school, I took several advanced courses for college credit such as AP US History, AP Art History, AP Literature, and AP Calc AB. In addition to these in school advanced courses I took Acting all four years of high school as an elective and stage managed/directed several shows in my junior and senior years.
Awards
I received two senior awards in high school. The first was the Susan Kawaichi Plaque for the work I did running the club "Voice Cooperative." This club brought in a diverse set of speakers from around the Bay Area in an attempt for the Piedmont community to hear complex, important stories outside of our own lives. I also was granted the "Outstanding Senior in Drama Department Award- Directing" for my work and many hours of time spent as an actor and a director in the drama department throughout high school.
Additional Info
In my AP exams, I scored a 5 on AP Literature, US History, and Art History. I scored a 4 on AP Calc AB.
In addition to running the club Voice Cooperative, I also ran a club with two close friends- Concert Series Club. This club was created to provide a space for new, developing performers to be courageous and show the school their music! It also created a very exciting intersection of performance, digital content, advertising, sound, and organizing skills from all individuals involved.
Awards
As mentioned in the education section, I was granted the "Outstanding Senior in Drama Department Award- Directing."
Additional Info
I absolutely love music and it has been my outlet in many ways before and all throughout high school. I write many of my own songs and am in the processing of self recording / producing them now to release in the next year! My father taught me guitar and I have been singing and playing piano since a young age. I have also been very involved in theater since about 5th grade and love both acting and directing/ stage managing productions.
Employment History
I worked as the Program Director for an entirely student run a cappella group at my high school that has been around for 50 years. I worked the full year, organizing the group, hosting auditions, helping lead rehearsals, and scheduling over 90 professional paid gigs in the Bay Area. It was my job to coordinate all 24 members' schedules and create singing groups of 4 members or 8 members for various gigs. I was also in charge of client outreach and all of the finances of the group. This job gave me many new skill sets in using excel, managing a large group of individuals, time management, client outreach, organization, budgeting and finances, and leadership.
Community Service
History
I participated in my high school's community service club for all four years of high school doing various projects like building homes, tutoring young children, and working at food banks. I also worked for several weeks in Costa Rica at a wildlife refuge in helping a small, local organization with environmental preservation in the area.
