I spent 5 weeks of my 2018 summer in Fresno doing service with the Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program. It was a very moving and significant experience in my life. We worked tirelessly, 6 days a week in our effort to empower unprivileged middle school children. The program consisted of study, sports, art, and music. I taught kids, took part in planning meetings, and went door to door speaking to parents and inviting their kids to join us.

The program lasted 7 weeks, but I missed two of them because of a prior engagement at a summer camp that my grandmother used to run (Camp Badger).
